Tucked away in a corner of Thornewood Open Space Preserve.
This cached is located in a distant corner of the Thornewood Open Space Preserve. There's a well defined but obscure trail that branches off the old Bridal Trail at a washed out crossing of Denis Martin Creek (at N37° 23.2080 W122° 15.1325). The trail climbs steeply through Redwood trees before petering out.
I suggest parking at the Old La Honda trail head and taking a trail that starts just above the old mill site and follows the left side of the creek. You can also come in from Hwy 84 and pick up the old Bridal Trail at the lake.
Since my goal in placing this cache is to get you to a beautiful spot the cache is real easy to get: it's atop a large, 10 foot stump right near where the trail ends after recrossing the creek.
