Long Pine Virtual Cache
Pros: Located in the Everglades (In Long Pine campground
(3-4 miles into park)
Cons: Costs money to Enter Park (I think $8 or so for day
visit, buy an annual for only $20 Bucks!!!)
Comments: Our family tries to get out to the
Everglades at least 6-10 times a year. It is trully one of the greatest resources we
have in South Dade & Florida. I Stongly encourage everyone to visit the
Everglades. I camp out here at least once a year.
Location: This was a geocache location, but I did not know you could
not place caches in National Parks.
To verify your find e-mail me the main attraction at this location(natural), don't post your answer here even if encrypted.
Landscape: This Virtual cache is located shortly off a trail
(within 20 feet) within the Long Pine campground in the Everglades National Park.
This seems to be the official trail entrance for the park. Some GPS software marks
the trail entrance on the farther side of the loop. Go towards the Hard-Wood Hammock
Area, it stands out amongst the Pine/Palmetto Everglades landscape. This Trail IS
AWESOME AT NIGHT!!!!
