Ein Hin-und-Mit für den stressgeplagten
Großstadt-Geocacher.

Heute besuchen wir die alte Hopfenpost.

Zuerst auf Deutsch, then in English.

Auf dem Vorplatz der alten Hopfenpost stehen der Bär und der Bulle, die diesen Cache inspiriert haben.

Bei Wikipedia ist zu lesen: „Zwischen November 2007 und Juni 2009 befand sich die Börse München vorübergehend in den Räumen der Alten Hopfenpost.“ Ich nehme an, dass die Skulpturen aus dieser Zeit stammen. Wem die Begriffe ‚Bärenmarkt‘ und ‚Bullenmarkt‘ nicht bekannt sind, kann hier bei Wikipedia nachlesen.

Um den Cache zu finden, ist es NICHT notwendig, den Rasen zu betreten.

Nächste Toilette ist im BR (Bayerischer Rundfunk)-Hochhaus.

Kleines Update: Vor ein paar Wochen (im Juli 2026) habe ich gehört, dass die Börse München wieder eingezogen ist, und zwar vor ein paar Jahren. Peinlich, Peinlich.

English:

Today, we're visiting the 'Old Hopfenpost', where the German Post Office sorted the mail for many years. After they moved out, the building went through extensive renovations, and the Bavarian Stock Exchange was temporarily located here from November 2007 until June 2009. The statutes of a Bear and a Bull that inspired this cache are standing in the forecourt. I assume the statues were placed here at that time. If you want to find out what a "Bear Market" and "Bull Market" are, you can find more information here and here at Wikipedia.

To find the cache, it is NOT necessary to step on the grass.

The closest restrooms can be found on the ground floor of the BR (Bayerischer Rundfunk) Building. The next possibilities are the Augustiner Bierkeller or the main train station.

A little update: A couple of weeks ago (in July 2026), I heard that the Munich Stock Exchange moved back in, and that was a couple of years ago. To quote Popeye, "How embarrassking."
