It is becoming an annual tradition for us to come to Tehachapi early in the Fall. Sharon attends a knitting confab, and Jim goes caching. And as part of this annual ritual, a few new caches get hidden 
This road was "discovered" after hunting a couple of caches on the eastern portion. I was heading for Caliente-Bodfish Road, as I wanted to hit some of the caches hidden on it since last year, as well as check up on the caches we hid last year. I was amazed that there were no caches on this piece of road, and I noted a couple of spots that looked good.
After getting back from Walker Basin, I had a small cache that I knew would be perfect along here, so I came back out as the sun was setting behind the hills to the west. With all the grasses turned to gold, it's a beautiful spot, if you ignore the freeway. Wouldn't mind seeing it in the Spring.
There is a nice pullout for parking just east of the cache, on the same side of the road. It's in the obvious place, although not necessarily what you might expect, as this is a *very* old version of a common cache-hiding spot. Please take care when putting it back: thanks!
