This cache has been archived.

TheCur8or: As this cache has been out of action for too long, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Located between an estuary track or seldom used bush track. Take your pick. Tide could help make your choice. Wire fences are to stop unauthorized vehicles. Walkers welcomed. DAYLIGHT HOURS ONLY.

Poor 'Ole Brer Rabbit decided to take a swim in the estuary, got caught in the tidal current and ended up on the opposite bank from his home in the Laughing Place. Poor Brer Rabbit had to rough it out for the night until he could catch the next tide and swim back to his Laughing Place.

The hole in a stump under a pine tree where he roughed out the night has been recognized forever with a cache location. But, not just any old cache. This cache is loaded with all sorts of goodies that every "kid" who loves Bear Rabbit will enjoy making an exchange. Come prepared.

The Tasman District Council has even named the location Rough Island in Brer Rabbit's honour.

Just be sure that you replace "everything" just as you found it. We don't want to give Brer Fox or Brer Bear any idea where Brer Rabbit might have been.

If you have the time, it would be well worth it to continue on either track for a bit of extra fun. Watch out, you might see a Brer Muggle with a Brer Dog. Remember, you can approach the cache from two different directions.

If you have never been to the Brer Rabbit's Laughing Place, it's not that far away.

If you are tired of puzzles you can't solve, mountains you can't climb and minute containers you can't find and just want a bit of fun, this cache is for you. Just enjoy!
