How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

Like a lot of things, they are a lot easier with the right tool. You don't need a Jeep, but a compatible GPS is a necessity.

This cache is a "special" multi using a wireless beacon, and it only works with compatible GPSr's. Simply go to the posted coordinates, and your GPSr will receive coordinates for the final stage. You are looking for an ammo can.

If you have trouble, make sure that you have the correct device, latest firmware (your geocaching icon should be an open treasure box), make sure that chirp searching is turned on in Setup>Geocaching, and that the heart rate monitor is turned off. If you can't enable chirp searching in your Setup>Geocaching menu, then you don't have the right device/firmware.

Again, you must use a compatible GPSr to receive coordinates to the final stage while at the posted coordinates. Physically finding the wireless beacon won't help. It has been programmed by our GPSr and won't work with another GPSr.

Thanks to FSUdad as we lifted some of his Chirp writeup directly from his Chirp cache. Have fun and enjoy this high tech cache in the woods.
