If there are components or remnants of the cache and you haven't already done so, please return to the GZ and collect the cache (or remnants). We don't want to litter our environment with Geotrash.

Should you wish to replace the cache after 28 days has passed please create a new cache listing so it can be reviewed as a new cache.

Geocache Description:

The cache is a 300ml Sistema and is the first cache placed by B.B.B & The girls. It must be ‘Kismet’ that we placed our first cache at this spot given that for the most part ‘The Girls’ have been born or lived so close by all or nearly all their lives. Hope you enjoy searching for this cache and that you complete the enclosed log and log your find on line.

BETWEEN the Ashes and the pop festival, Sunbury made a name for itself in the world of thoroughbred racing.
Kismet Park Stud was a breeding ground for champions including The Trump, winner of the Caulfield and Melbourne Cup double in 1937.
Now covered by houses, the man-made Spavin Lake and Sunbury College, the then horse facility, set on more than 400ha, once groomed more than 50 horses at a time, while its yearling sales were attended by shrewd buyers wanting a stake in the next champion.
Kismet Park homestead was built in 1909 by Sir Rupert Clark, who named it after a racehorse he once owned.
In 1927 the property was leased to Les Aldridge, who bought the property in 1953 and was active in its running until he died in 1957. Sunbury residents Norm and Elizabeth Free both worked at and visited the stud through the 1940s and ‘50s and treasure their time there.
“It would have been one of the leading studs in the state at the time,” Mr Free said.
“He (Les Aldridge) often topped yearling sales.”
Mr Free began working at the property as a 14-year-old in 1941, while his father Ernie was stud groom. “I’d leave school; blow the homework and head straight over - the horses were more interesting than homework,” he said.
Mr Free said the stud employed three full-time staff and up to eight during the yearling season.
“During the yearling sales everyone would pitch in,” Mr Free said.
Mrs Free worked in the bustling homestead in the service of Mrs Aldridge. She said the homestead hosted many a social occasion and celebrity guest, including pianist and composer Percy Aldridge Grainger.
Following the death of Mr Aldridge, the land was sectioned off for development but the homestead remains and is now owned privately.
The legacy of the stud remains, with several Sunbury streets such as The Trump Court, Manfred Court and Chicola Close named after Kismet Park horses.
The cache is hidden near the entrance to the historic homestead which until a few years ago was used as a wedding reception centre. The homestead can be seen from the walking path on the north side of the creek.
The first to find prize is a commemorative coin celebrating the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton which was distributed by a daily newspaper.
