Geocache Description:

Cache is NOT at the listed coordinates.

Genealogy has been a passion of mine for years. I have spent countless hours looking through old documents, photos and cemeteries looking for clues about my ancestors.

I can’t say that caching has replaced genealogy as my favorite hobby, but it’s running a very close second! It gives me something else to look for when I’m not searching for family members who lived hundreds of years ago. I couldn’t think of anything better for my first hide than to bring these two hobbies together.

I have posted some of my research and headstone photos out on the web. A search for “Philip Murphy” 1802 should lead the way to finding my 4th Great Grandfather. Starting with him, answer the questions outlined below. If a question asks for a numerical value of a letter, use the standard a=1, b=2, c=3, etc. Once this is done, solve the equations below the questions to find the missing numbers of the coordinates.

The cache is a small, camoed plastic container hidden near a very peaceful, scenic area of a local cemetery. Depending on the route you take to GZ, you may walk past a headstone or two. Please have respect for the area and for any other people nearby. Please obey posted hours (currently the gates close at 7:00 PM) and NO night caching. I had seen a jogger run by when I was scoping out the area, so watch out for muggles!

There is a semi-crisp dollar bill for the FTF.

Congratulations to neogeo585 for the FTF!

A = Q8 * Q4 – Q13
B = Q12 – Q11 + Q2 / Q8
C = (Q3 + Q1) / (Q11 + Q4)
D = Q3 – Q11 – Q12
E = Q8 – Q13 + Q12 + Q6 – Q4
F = Q1 + Q9 – Q2 – Q10
G = Q10 – Q6 + Q5
H = (Q7 – Q5) / Q1
