Geocache Description:

The cache is a grey Tupperware container located in The Herdman Trust Playing Field in Ewhurst Green, East Sussex.

The Herdman Trust Playing Fields in Ewhurst Green commemorate Lieutenant Arthur Herdman, who died whilst serving in World War One. After he left for France in 1914, each soldier was given a piece of paper on which to write their will. Herdman chose to leave a field belonging to him in Ewhurst Green to the children of the village. Since then the playing field has played a vital role in bringing the village together in activities such as cricket and football. It is now a popular place for the people of the village and children to this day enjoy the fields and the swings.
