Geocache Description:

Manhattan has a suspension bridge. It made me think on the differences between the suspension bridges in Manhattan, NY and our Manhattan, KS. Just wondering

The linear trail in Manhattan is one of my favorite destinations in town. I have biked it entirely couple times and jogged it once. The last time I was hiking from the bridge on the 24 highway to Casement Rd, I noticed the sidewalk that connects the Linear Trail with the Northeast Community Park.

The next day I followed the concrete sidewalk down the levi where the trail is built on. To my biggest surprise I found a pedestrian suspension bridge over the creek. It was amazing. It swings when you cross it and make noises. My dog was scared to cross it because you can see the creek through the metallic grill they used to built the bridge.

I read the story behind the bridge which is posted on a sign. The bridge is about 6-years old now (2011). It was built to connect the Linear Trail with the trail around the Northeast Park. I think it was really cool to have such a bridge here in town. So what better than a small cache to bring visitors to the trail and the bridge. From where you park you will have to hike at least a mile round-trip. It is gonna be a good exercise.

This is a small cache camo-taped container hidden in the most obvious place. Make sure you are not seen by muggles and to replace it where and as you find it.
