This cache has been archived.

West Texas Reviewer: Cache Owner (CO) has not responded, so the cache is being archived to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking new cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace this cache sometime in the future (not to exceed 15 days from the date of this entry), just contact me (by e-mail), and assuming it still meets the current Guidelines, I will consider unarchiving this cache.

Please be advised this is not a guarantee that this geocache will be unarchived. Many factors will go into my decision. The most important of which is how you responded to geocachers who tried to communicate with you regarding the problem(s) with this geocache hide and how you communicated with me, the West Texas Reviewer.

Geocache Description:

This is the second of several caches reflecting the fundamentals in every life. Mobility is necessary for all creatures and in humans it allows us to explore the world around us and to spread our own wings.

“Our nature consists in motion; complete rest is death.” ~ Blaise Pascal

You are looking for a flaming matchstick container.

The Phoenix or Firebird is a mythical creature that has endured through vastly different cultures including the Persians, Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, Chinese, and Phoenicians. It has a 500 to 1000 year life cycle at the end of which it creates a nest of sweet smelling twigs and dies in a fire of its own making. Both nest and bird burn fiercely and are reduced to ashes only to rise again as a chick destined to live for another 500+ years. The Phoenix is known as a symbol of rebirth, immortality, and renewal.

Stedfast she gazed upon his fire,
Still her destroyer and her sire!
As if to his her soul of flame
Had flown already whence it came.
~ George Darley
