Geocache Description:

Rugged terrain, slippery when wet, be careful, minor climbing may be required, not recomended in winter.

Growing up in the MacKenzie area this was a favorite place to spend late fall afternoons, taking in the view and watching the sun sink low in the sky. This place had an almost mystical quality to it when we were young, it was one of the grand discoveries we made when the world was still largely a big wide unknown. After dinner we used to hop on our bikes and race across the railroad bridge to come play here in the gathering twilight, it reminded us of the epic sprawling landscapes of LOTR and so it gained its name. This cache is a two stage Multi-Cache, first one is a micro with coordinates to the second. This cache requires some minor scrambling, nothing too advanced, but mind your footing.
