Geocache Description:

This is a reguler sized lock&lock with a FTF prize and tradable items. I hope you enjoy the series. This has a few small cross bars on the way to the cache. Cars can park at N49 17.449 W125 13.538. It is .12 of a mile to the cache location, bring your camera.

This series was placed to tell the history, show the beauty, as well as to break up the trip along Highway 4 going to the West Coast. All of the caches are placed on the right hand side of the road, so you do not have to cross the highway, as you head west towards Tofino/Ucluelet. The caches are well off the road and there are safe pullouts at each location. Please give drivers behind you plenty of notice when you are getting close to turning off the highway. There is also plenty of visibility for when you are pulling back out on the road. The entire road to the West Coast is bear and cougar country so please by vigilant.

I chose this spot because of a numbers of reasons. This is the direction that you would that to get to Doran Lake and GC2B7BW and you will need a 4x4 to get to these spots, good fishing in the lake. Across the Highway is where the old highway ran, this continued from where it crossed at the last cache. If you cross the highway and turn left you can get down to the lake where camping and a cache GC1DM3C are available. Straight across the highway is a cache GC2BQJD and also if you turn right along the old highway is a cache GC2WZDG. The old highway continued along to the right and crossed over the Taylor River to a road that runs along the backside of Sprout Lake. There it starts switch backs going up the ridge on the other side. Congratulations to Team Pawz and DIOS on the FTF
