Cooter's Junkyard and Garage - Dukes of Hazzard #7 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

talk2azs: The container was right where I originally put it. I thought long and hard about this one. Those that have yet to hunt this one, most likely don't even remember the original DOH series and the first 5 episodes that were shot in GA. So after too many complaint emails, I decided I have no use for this hide anymore.

Container has been removed. This cache is now in the history books.

Geocache Description:

This cache area is one of the many locations in this part of Georgia that was used in the first 5 episodes of the Dukes of Hazzard.

Bring your own pen to sign the log.

You can park near the cache, but I would advise you to park at the store just up the road near my Truck Jump and Grocery Store - Dukes of Hazzard #5 cache. The GC code to that cache is GC24BRC. Then take the short hike to this cache. But PLEASE be careful crossing the road. This cache is not recommended for kids.

Not many people know that the first 5 episodes of "The Dukes Of Hazzard" were shot here on the East side of metro Atlanta. Some cities used for scenes were Covington, Oxford, Conyers, and Loganville.

This cache, a camo'd pill bottle, is located in the right of way near and on the fence line of the property that was used as Cooter's Junkyard and Garage. Filming took place here for the episodes, One-Armed Bandits and Daisy's Song. Below is a screen capture of the scene where the Duke Boys are driving through the Junkyard. Notice the blue and white bus in the background. That bus still exists today and can bee seen from the road and cache location.

Below is a shot I took of the bus from near the cache location. You can see that trees have grown all around and even through the bus. Sorry, trees, a back end to a work truck, and a barrel obstruct the view. The bus is more visible in the Winter. I am trying to gain access to the property, but I have yet to see someone on the property. I will keep trying though.

Happy Hunting.
