Geocache Description:

BYOP Placed in an area for a quick find.

It is green and about twice the size of a film canister. In the old days this was a busy area because of the proximity to the Erie Canal. History reveals that during the heyday of the canal 5000 boats provided commerce between Albany and Buffalo. Around the corner on Canal Street is a museum about the Erie Canal and the early contributions of the people of Canastota.
