This series was placed to tell the history, show the beauty, as well as to break up the trip along Highway 4 going to the West Coast. All of the caches are placed on the right hand side of the road, so you do not have to cross the highway, as you head west towards Tofino/Ucluelet. The caches are well off the road and there are safe pullouts at each location. Please give drivers behind you plenty of notice when you are getting close to turning off the highway. There is also plenty of visibility for when you are pulling back out on the road. The entire road to the West Coast is bear and cougar country so please by vigilant.
I chose this spot because in the early 60's there was a land slide here that blocked the highway for 3-4 months and it shut off the highway to the west coast. This road was an access point into the shanty town, tent town, that was erected for the workers that were clearing the highway. The area is now being used by people camping and fishing. There is a cache, GC2X73X, 1/2 way along this road and the location of the shanty town. The road is starting to get over grown a little however it is passable even with cars.
Congratulations to Team Pawz and DIOS on the FTF
