Geocache Description:

An easy to find micro in a built up area, suitable as a cache and dash. Please note, if you try to approach from the Kidmore Road end of Gravel Hill, the road is blocked, but is fine for pedestrians and cyclists. There is no pen, so please bring your own.

This is the first cache we've hidden and it was inspired by a similar cache hidden in the area, Post Post RG4 437.

Near to the cache site you will see Old Grove House. This is a Grade II listed building and one of the oldest houses in Emmer Green (not to be confused with Grove House which is now part of Highdown School, just down the road on Surley Row). Emmer Green has abandoned clay and chalk mines, and it is thought that Old Grove House was constructed from bricks made from clay mined nearby.
