The cache is placed at the site of the new Narborough aerodrome memorial unvieled on september 9th 2011.As long as i can remember this road junction has been known the black hangar after the last aircraft hangar that stood at this site until 1977 when it was destroyed in a gale. The aerodrome was operational from 1915 until 1919 and covered about 900 acres. There were originaly 6 hangars 3 on either side of chalk lane each measuring 170ft by 70ft.In its time it was the largest airfield in britain. When the airfield closed all the buildings were auctioned off and some are still in use including West Acre village hall which was an old mess hut.For more information on this you can visit narboroughhistory.org.uk
