Geocache Description:

A short walk along the old Dykebar to Barrhead railway line.

Parking available at N55 49.798, W004 23.520.

The line was opened in 1897 and used by coal trains until the 1960s. The old bridge in the field opposite used to run a line to Hawkhead Hospital. Remains of another old bridge can still be seen beside the pedestrian crossing at the top of Hawkhead Road.

Mrs B used to play here as a child, it was often a favourite spot for the bonfire celebrations.

Paths to the cache can be wet and muddy so wellies or boots are advised. Please do not attempt to park anywhere on Barrhead or Hurlet Road, these are dual carriageways. Park on Ben Nevis Road or in the School car park.

Please replace cache exactly as hidden.
