OZ ALBURY FLASHMOB Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

Oz Mega Committee: The largest ever flashmob in the Southern Hemisphere of 720 people attended this unique flashmob with a difference .
All the orange clipboards with log sheets were signed and 100 unique pathtags were won by teams in the hunt for stickers.
Our Gold Sponsor of the Kinross Woolshed Hotel enjoyed great support in the their popular buffet and the drink bars were a hit.
Some good photo's were snapped and all had a good time.
The attendees must be congratulated for firstly a top effort in their neat parking of over 200 cars on the grass areas. Also the quick no fuss assembling for photos and getting into the spirit of the whole idea. Only 110 people didn't attend from the whole MEGA event and that was due to either stallholder owners or teams who had attended up till the Saturday night and had to leave.

The Oz Mega Committee thanks all attendees in their orderly conduct and thanks the Kinross Woolshed Hotel and Nick the Manager for being great hosts.

Time to archive the event and we hope all attendees enjoyed a special time.

thankfully,
Greg,
President

Geocache Description:

Welcome all geocachers to the OZ ALBURY FLASHMOB at the Albury icon of the Kinross Woolshed Hotel in Thurgoona.
This unique event will occur at 11.30 AM on Easter Sunday at the Kinross Woolshed Hotel, which is located just 3 KM's from the OZ MEGA ALBURY WODONGA event site.

*Geocachers will need to start arriving in the car park region around 11.00 am to 11.15 am to be set.As this "Flashmob Event " could have a large crowd attend in itself, the car park will overflow and there is plenty of parking on the grass areas through the main car park area.
* At 11.30am on the dot, all geocachers will move onto the entire newly constructed front outdoor verandah section of the Kinross Woolshed Hotel. This new verandah holds 800 people, so there will be plenty of room
*30 seconds later, a horn will sound and all the huge crowd will stage a "FREEZE POSITION". This position can be your own imagination and include 1/ kids on shoulders 2/ hands in the air 3/ running position 4/ or anything else.A FREEZE POSITION photograph will be taken.
* This will be followed by an official photograph by the event photographers with all geocachers facing the front.
* The Albury newspaper will be on hand for a newspaper photograph as well.
* All photographs will be shown on the outdoor screen during presentations on Easter Sunday night.
* The flashmob competition will then take place with instructions from the OZ MEGA COMMITTEE.
*100 unique prizes will be given out at the event. The OZ MEGA COMMITTEE will have tables set up in the car park for prize instructions.
* The OZ MEGA COMMITTEE tables will be on hand to log your "attendance " in the many log books available. We will record team names and people within your team present.
*Only "log book Attendees" will be valid for online "Attended" logs.

A flashmob (or a flash mob) is a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual and sometimes seemingly pointless act for a brief time, then disperse, often for the purposes of entertainment and/or satire. [Source: Wikipedia]

*We please ask that there be no trackables or coins placed into this event.
*The Oz Mega Committee invites all teams to place their "Will Attends" here including how many people within their team. Thank You.
