Geocache Description:

Tato skrysa Vas privedie k jednemu zo styroch drevenych kostolov v Tatrach, nenapadne skrytemu za stromami pri ceste.

This cache will lead you to one of four wooden churches in the Tatras, subtly hidden behind the the trees along the road.




   Rimskokatolicky Kostol Nanebovzatia Panny Marie v Tatranskej Kotline navrhol a postavil v rokoch 1890 – 1891 levocsky architekt a stavitel Anton Muller (1848 – 1932) v neogotickom style s uplatnenim hrazdenej konstrukcie. Ma jednolodovu dispoziciu s rovnym zaverom svatyne a drevenu emporu nad vchodom do lode. Vstupne priecelie s predsadenou predsienou vrcholi v trojuholnikovom stite, z ktoreho vybieha drevena zvonicka. Muller tradicny goticky prvok stylizovanej krizovej kytice na vimperkoch aplikovanych na bocnych stitoch strechy transformoval do podoby kvetov plesnivca. Tento tatransky motiv je tiez pouzity na kraboch a krizovych kyticiach vimperkov na neogotickom oltari. Nad nim je obraz Nanebovzatia Panny Marie od budapestianskeho maliara Karola Jakobeyho (1825 alebo 1826 – 1891) z roku 1891.






   Roman Catholic church Virgin Mary Assumption in Tatranska Kotlina designed and built between 1890 - 1891 architect and builder Anton Muller from Levoca (1848 - 1932) in the neogothic style with the application of half-timbered construction. Has one nave disposition with straight conclusion sanctuary and wooden empora above the entrance to the ship. Admission facade with antechamber culminates at a triangular shield, from which gets off a wooden belfry. Muller traditional gothic element stylized cross bouquets on the decorative shields applied to the side shields roof transformed into flowers plesnivec. This Tatras motif is also used for the kraby and the cross bouquets decorative shields on the neogothic altar. Above it is a painting the Assumption of Virgin Mary by the painter Charles Jakobeyho from Budapest (1825 or 1826 to 1891) of 1891
