North Star Trail - Gone To Pot Traditional Cache

Scottie: After checking some of my local geocaches I decided now is the time to archive this one which has been in place for some 14 years. Hopefully another geocacher will find the energy to locate a new geocache somewhere close to this same spot. The trail is well used by locals and tourists.

Geocache Description:


This cache is UP THE SLOPE above the paved Trail. It is as far from the active railway as it’s possible to get at this location (without entering private property). It is placed at this location so as to conform to the required distances needed between cache GZ and active rail. There is absolutely NO reason to leave the paved portion of the Trail and descend the bank in the direction of the railway.

My original “Gone to Pot” was placed well away from habitation and it got “muggled” by a big hairy animal with long, sharp, teeth and claws. Hopefully most of the muggles in this location will not be relatives of this upset cache-destroyer. This cache is hidden in plain view. If you know your plants then finding this cache will be easy for you. You will be looking for a smallish Dryopteris carthusiana Plasticae. There aren’t many of this particular species of plant along this section of the Trail so this may, or may not, make the hunt easier.

Cache contains a highly collectible Scottie/$#@*!Fence Log for the first person who might value such an item.
