Barnabas Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

weaser51: It's a shame. This was my favorite cache. 2 of the containers were pretty cool and ghoulish. Someone must be onto it as it's been muggled 3 times in the less than a year that its been in place. Going to archive it - hope someone who lives closer takes advantage of this real cool spot and places a similar cache here some day.

Geocache Description:

I spent a lot of time at my grandmothers in Bath when I was young. My mother and grandmother both were born here, at home, and both are buried in this town. I have many, many fond memories of those times and the people who used to live here. One not so fond memory is of walking through this spot at night, in the pitch dark. My grandparents never owned a car and walked anywhere they needed to go - to work, to church, to the store, to the doctors, to visit. My grandmother would cut straight through this spot to take us to visit her friend. In the late 1960's there was a soap opera called "Dark Shadows" whose lead character was Barnabas Collins, a vampire. It was hokey and cheesy by todays standards, but it scared the life out of me back then. Those "night time shortcuts" through here with my grandmother terrified me. I was convinced Barnabas was lurking behind every shadow.
The cache is not hidden on any graves or crypts, so please don't disturb them. Be respectful to both those resting here and those that may be visiting graves of loved ones. Re-hide the cache as you find it to prevent it from being muggled. And don't attempt after dark.
This cache is within direct view of houses on 2 bordering streets and has already been muggled once. I suggest parking in a different part of the cemetery or on the street and "mosey" over towards the cache site to throw off peering and suspicious eyes.
