That's My Story..nwk_Berlin Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

nwk_berlin: I went looking for this one today, hoping it was just a case of looking the wrong direction like I saw another cacher do in front of me awhile back. If it's there, it's probably on the ground under the leaves. It's time for this one to call it a day, leaving space for a new cache in the area?
Thanks to everyone who visited through the years.

Geocache Description:

This is a daughter cache from KDR72's cache "That's My Story..Master Cache" (GC2ZQFN).

Here’s my story:

A couple of years ago my brother (Winslpr) e-mailed and told me that his son (Winslma) had gotten him started in this thing called geocaching—something about finding treasures using an electronic device. I envisioned him as one of those folks that go down the beach with a metal detector and thought, yeh ok. When I saw him last summer he was talking some more about it and even took our sister out late that evening for a demo. I’d had a long day so I headed to bed.

Last October Winslpr and his wife came to visit me while I was still living in Berlin (Germany). Within an hour of their arrival we were walking the couple of blocks from my home to the nearest cache, which was near a grocery store that we needed to visit. Not only did I learn something very interesting about the location, but I actually found the tricky cache in a bolt first (beginner’s luck)! So we went travelling and caching around in Germany--with quick border crossings into Poland and Czech Republic, of course. Besides the fun of the finds, I was amazed at the places and history that we discovered through geocaching. Soon I was signing the logs of the caches we found—I was hooked!

And as they say…the rest is history! I have now found over 1000 caches in less than a year!

I hid this cache in Woods Hollow Nature Preserve near the parking lot off Northline Road. In addition to hiking trails, there is a pond for fishing. The preserve is only open from dawn to dusk!

If you haven’t already found them, I encourage you to look for my two other caches here, plus the multi cache and two other traditional caches in the preserve.
