Geocache Description:


The Pry House Field Hospital Museum is located in the house that served as Union Commander General George B. McClellan's headquarters during the battle. Exhibits focus on period medical care of the wounded, as well as information about the Pry House. The museum is sponsored by the National Museum of Civil War Medicine.

The Pry House Field Hospital Museum occupies the historic Philip Pry Farm on Antietam National Battlefield and enables the visitor to experience the Battle of Antietam and a range of historically-based programs and activities. A field hospital exhibit in the house and barn help visitors discover the early concepts of emergency medical care and evacuation, and the ways the war affected the community surrounding the battlefield.

Proceed to N 39° 28.553 W 077° 42.814 and use the right hand portion of the marker with the heading "Field Hospital" to glean information for the following puzzle:

Substitute numbers from the marker into the following Coordinates: N 39° 28.ABB W 077° 42.ACC where:

A = the number of surgeon's tools visible in the photo in the "Field Hospital" portion of the marker PLUS two.
B = the number of animals visible in the photos in the "Field Hospital" portion of the marker.
C = the date that Gen. Israel Richardson succumber to his wounds PLUS five.
 

The cache you seeek is hidden just a short drive away from this historical marker. The container you seek is a large sized pill bottle containing a few logsheet/stashnote combinations but no room for a stylus so be sure to BYOP!
