ChipnDonna: I loved this spot for a cache on the Los Trancos trail, but I've got an achy (but not breaky) hip that will severely limit my ability to maintain this cache. So I cleaned it out and I'm archiving the cache. Hopefully someone else will place one in this peaceful spot.

Geocache Description:

A water bottle sized cache located on Los Trancos Trail in Palo Alto Foothills Park.

The coordinates should bring you close to the Lynn Torin bench. Lynn served as charter member of the Palo Alto Parks and Recreation Commission (2000-2003). This was not a memorial bench when I established the cache, but it is now (Dec 2014 obit (visit link) Sit and enjoy the babble or rush of the creek depending what season you venture to this place.

The cache has been moved to a place that does not require you to cross the creek and about 50 ft from the bench you are sitting on. The original cache sat in a hollow of a tree that was eroded by the rushing waters and likely was swept downstream. The current (no pun intended) location is also the hollow of a tree.

The original water bottle cache was a Mazda water bottle obtained at some car demo years ago. The name now has no meaning other than historical... So it goes...
