Welcome to beautiful Sublime Point Road, gateway to the legendary Sublime Point Lookout! From Leura Sublime Seven GZ you can drive another 850 metres south down to the end of the road, and then stroll only 175 metres to one of the best lookouts in the Blue Mountains, with a 270 degree panorama of the Jamison Valley and Mt. Solitary (Korowal).
Leura Sublime Seven is also very near to a quick shortcut through the edge of the National Park to the east, on an informal but very wide trail right behind the cache. So walk less than 50 metres, and enjoy a great view towards the local sacred mountain, an excellent preview of what you'll see in a greater panorama at Sublime Point Lookout. However, take care if you do decide approach the cliff edge, because it's not fenced and therefore not safe for geo-kids. Hold on to their hands. It would be easy to slip down the grassy, leafy slope on the left (northeast) side. Remember, please, that the cache isn't hidden inside the National Park! You don't have to go to the above-mentioned informal lookout in order to make the log. You can stay quite near Sublime Point Road, in perfect safety. And you don't have to dig around in the plants or in the rocks in order to find it. Leave the neighbour's wooden fence alone too; it's not there. And finally, give the brand new green electrical box a miss. No cache anywhere near it! I couldn't manage to fit a pen or pencil into the squeezy cache container, so remember to bring your own writing implement. Some geocachers may encounter a few difficulties in spotting this cache, although it's actually in plain sight. In any case, I hope my geocache brings lots of fun to all and leads you to visit the south of Leura, the National Park and Sublime Point.
