The Setting:
This Wherigo Geocache takes place in the mid 1800s in the Gold Rush
town of Columbia, California, the heart of the motherlode.
The posted coordinates get you to the parking lot near the
starting location of the cache.
The Experience:
This Wherigo experience is pretty straight forward. Your task is to
visit 10 areas ("zones" in the Wherigo lingo). When you visit each
zone - the Wherigo software recognizes you are there and will ask
you a simple question to answer if you get the answer right, it
will mark that task as being complete. If you answer wrong you
simply try again until you get it right! After you have completed
each zone one more zone for the final cache will be presented.
Simply walk to each zone and answer a simple question. At the last
stage you will be given the coordinates to the final physical
location where you will hopefully find the cache and sign the
logbook.
Is logging my result any different for this
cache?
Logging your results here on geocaching.com is no different than
any other cache.
Unlocking the cartridge on Wherigo.com is not required, but it
would be greatly appreciated. After you've completed the cartridge
you should see a "Columbia Miner 49er.gws" file on your device. You
can upload this file to Wherigo.com and it will "Unlock" it, giving
you full credit for completing the cartridge. It will also help
track the number of completions for this cartridge. Again not
required, but I would really appreciate it if you did.
