One of the Monterey's fabulous views and scenic spots, this is a great place to bring the family. It is a county park, so there will be a nominal $3 fee.
This is going to be a Pot-Luck Picnic, please bring drinks for your own family. We will bring a small bag of charcoal, utensils and a few condiments if anyone is interested in grilling. Be sure to bring your GPS unit as we will be having a cache hunt games with a few prizes. Also, please bring a small item for a new cache (or two) that we will hide as a group when we're done (we will provide container, log, pens/pencils, and generic letter).
JACKS PEAK PARK has much to offer the outdoor recreator. Almost 8.5 miles of riding and hiking trails wind through cathedral-like forests, and to breathtaking ridgetop vistas. The Skyline Self-Guided Nature Trail traverses the summit of Jacks Peak.
Many sites at this park have spectacular views of the Monterey Bay and the world-renowned Monterey Peninsula, making a picnic at Jacks Peak a must for any visitor to the Monterey Peninsula.
Please log in and RSVP so we know approximately how many to expect for table snagging that morning :-) Looking forward to meeting everyone!
