Geocache Description:

One of a series of caches placed along the lakeside walk down the western shore of Windermere from Wray castle to Ferry House

As we left the castle behind, both it and the top of the lake disappeared into mist and slowly the heavy drizzle caught us up. However we were still looking over the lake into patch under a blue sky and bathed in afternoon sunlight. Suddenly the rainbow grew from nothing, a double arch joining white cross to Bowness bay, almost certainly the finest rainbow anyone in the group had ever seen in this country. We hurried to get an uninterrupted view but the trees kept the camera focussing far too close. Just behind us was an excellent hide, just made for a decent sized sandwich box job and there new cache was placed.
