Osprey fish near here and there is a nest within about 1/2 mile.
This cache is along one of the roadways where mechanical snow plowing of roads first occured in the United States. The farmers became angry and circulated petitions because it ruined the road surface for transporting milk and cream on horse drawn sleighs. A cacher will often see the Osprey that nest near here or an occasional Bald eagle fishing in the river nearby.
