Grab your bike or walking shoes to access this series of caches along the WV 9 bike trail. A bike makes short work of these caches.
This series of caches is located on the bike path. This particular cache is located directly behind the Coast Guard Building. You can drive or bike to this cache.
The building in front of this cache is the United States Coast Guard Operations Systems Center (OSC). It is a government-owned, contractor-operated facility with the primary function of providing full life-cycle support for operationally-focused Coast Guard Automated Information Systems. These systems support the Coast Guard’s five strategic missions: Protection of Natural Resources, National Defense, Maritime Safety, Mobility, and Security.
There are over 550 full-time staff members operating, maintaining, developing, and/or providing user support for over 50 enterprise-wide information systems.
This is an easy one and should be fun for the kids to find. This cache replaces a older cache named - "Bike Trail - Behind the Coast Guard".
To access the cache... Walk to the end of the fence and then follow your GPS to prevent you from having to climb the fence. The cache is placed so you can not be observed from the Coast Guard building. The cache is located before you get to the woodline.
Update : I don't understand why cachers do this to other cachers. But, this cache was in a HUGE Rubber Ducky. When I went to replace the log, I know see why I haven't gotten any more favorite points in a while. Someone stole the duck and left the inside container. Sorry!
