Geocache Description:

Camo'd extended match container.

The Sedillo Cemetery is located adjacent to the San Isidro Church. The old Sedillo town site was a trading spot on U.S. 66 and a refreshing pause after climbing the long grade coming up out of Albuquerque.

Sedillo was named after Pedro de Cedillo, a native of Queretaro who arrived in New Mexico before the Pueblo Rebellion of 1680. His descendants were well known after the Reconquest of 1692 by the Spaniards.

In current times, nearby Sedillo Hill is frequented by the local TV stations during severe winter storms to catch a glimpse of the worst conditions.

SPIRIT CACHES
These Spirit caches are a series placed at or near New Mexico cemeteries in hopes of paying respect to the pioneer ancestors having "gone" on before us, and, possibly picking up a bit of history of the area.

This "Spirit" cache is not affiliated with any other 'Spirit Quest', but with goals similar to Colorado.
We solicit your support as a volunteer cacher to place a "Spirit" cache at a cemetery near you.

We thank Tom Hoehn for finding this cemetery!!
