Geocache Description:

Summer has come and gone and, as geocachers, it's rare that we haven't enjoyed our local parks. Now's the time to give back with a little TLC!

Join with fellow geocachers, whether you’re a WSGA member or not, and lend a hand in Marysville's Jennings Park, spiffing it up a bit. Officially, we will focus on eradication of weeds and vines in the area of the Jennings Park Ball Field. We may also, depending on volunteer numbers, be cleaning up wetland corridors in the same area of the park, otherwise known as litter patrol.

Who?
Why you, of course! Truthfully, anybody is welcome. You're especially welcome if you're a new cacher, but you don't have to be a geocacher, and you certainly don't have to be a member of WSGA (Washington State Geocaching Association). Kids, too! (Please come -- it wouldn't be the same without you!)

What?
We'll start with the work -- picking up, spiffing up, making things look better than when we found it. This could include litter patrol and ivy pulling. Whatever you want to call it, just be there, or be square! (Please dress appropriately for the work and the weather. A pair of gloves would certainly be useful.)

But next, after the work is done, it'll be time to eat. A potluck picnic should be just the ticket. Bring food to share with your fellow cachers, and post in your "Will Attend" log what you're bringing. We'll have the shelter there, and the WSGA will supply water. Bring food, bugs to trade, a camp chair or two and the appetite you'll build as you work.

When?
Saturday, October 15, 2011
9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Rain or Shine!

Why?
Well, why the heck not?? But, there are a few things on the agenda, in addition to what's above:
  • A brief rundown on what the WSGA is and what we do. Membership materials will be available.
  • An update on what the WSGA's been up to and what's in the works.
  • A raffle. :-) (Let FluteFace know if you've got something you'd like to contribute.)

This Meeting is posted by the WSGA 48 North Chapter. If you are a Geocacher in the state of Washington, please join the Washington State Geocaching Association. This is a great way to get the most out of Geocaching in our region. Simply go to the WSGA Web Page for details! Chapters follow the Bylaws of the WSGA and are open to all interested parties.
