Geocache Description:

One of a planned occasional series of caches based on properties of numbers.

The cache is not at the above coordinates.

What would a series of number property caches be without one based on Pi?

Pi(π) is a mathematical constant derived from the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter. It is both an irrational number and a transcendental number.

Pi is used widely in mathematics and science. You will need to use π, a calculator and your knowledge of geometry and trigonometry (Google may assist) to determine the final coordinates and find the cache.

Many numbers can be derived from the information provided in the following two diagrams. However two numbers, rounded to three decimal places and in the form AB.CDE and VW.XYZ, will provide all that is needed to determine the final coordinates.

According to Wikipedia, the current record for the decimal expansion of π stands at 5 trillion digits. However six decimal places, or 3.141593, will be sufficiently accurate to solve this puzzle.

The cache is located at:

South 34° AB.XYZ, East 138° VW.CDE

You are looking for an Eclipse mint tin containing a pencil and logbook.

Have fun!
