A 2 mile walk from Thornhill village to the Muir Dam. The local community (TCT Access group) has worked hard to make sure this right of way has been retained. This is now one of Stirling Council's Core Paths, although don't be fooled into thinking it is going to be a tarmac motorway of a path.
Boots / wellies definitely required!
The farm here is Boquhapple. This is from a medieval form (Both Chapaill) meaning horse sheiling. This indicates it may have been an important horse rearing area.
When the cache was placed the field beyond here was full of cows - no horses in sight. Cows, do mean that it could well be rather muddy, don't say we didnt warn you.
Cows also mean your dogs need to be under control. We've not had any problems with them but bear in mind Allieballie's log if you choose to bring your dog on this path.
See the related web page for more details of the Bridge to Bridge route which this series of caches links up with.
