After riding the Tonkin Highway Bike Path for some 8 years, I thought it deserved a few caches along it's path. The Tonkin Highway Bike/Pedestrians path is 17.6 Kilometres long from Thomas Rd in Oakford to Gosnells Rd East in Martin. I recently did the Gumnut's Baldivis Bike hike caches and was inspired to do the same thing closer to home.
We venture quickly into the neighbouring country of Prankenstein, where things are not quite what they seem. They are Allied with the Tour De Tonkin for the 1st time and have been busy getting things ready for contestants. Their dictator, Dik Dartsma, has allowed us to participate in their country as long as the natural order of things is returned their natural state.
You are looking for a variety of caches, ranging from a nano to a small container. Some are camos, some magnetic and are all within easy reach of the bike path. Some can be reach by parking on Tonkin Highway, but I would advised against this as the shoulder is not wide and the edge is soft in spots. Some can be reached by some side streets.
