HR:
.

EN:
You are at the right place to feel the heart of the city of Zagreb. Ban Jelacic Square was built in the foothills of the old settlements Kaptol and Gradec (and by their joining Zagreb was formed), next to the Mandusevac spring. Here is the place where people meet, usually " by the clock" or " under the tail" (your current location
).
Mandusevac spring takes place in many legends. The most famous one is that Zagreb got its name after a city ruler was thirsty and ordered a girl named Manda to take water from Lake Mandusevac (nowadays a fountain), using the sentence: "Zagrabi, Mando!" (Scoop it up, Manda!). But my favourite legend is found in court documents on the persecution of witches which mention Mandusevac fountain as their main venue.
Just a few steps away is Dolac, the largest market, very colorful and interesting place, do visit
.
