One of the easier "Hotdog" caches we have placed, maybe we're getting soft. This cache is located just off the trail near a nice bench on the Upland Woods Trail, a 3.8 mile loop trail. This is a nice trail for seeing the varied faces of Devil's Lake...meadows and wetlands, woods, rocks, terminal moraine, rock bluffs, and scenic views. If that doesn't get you to want to get off the couch and out the door, you're not a hiker at heart.
The name of this cache was for the original container we used at this location, which I built for the 2002 Caching Through the Snow Event. It has been taken, so just sit a while and enjoy the "bunch of birch" near the bench.
