Down by the Riverside - Park Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

onecrazycanadian: Hi luckytwo,

It's been more than 2 months since I last contacted you and you stated that that you would be checking on the cache soon. Since that time there has been no activity or indication that anything is happening with it so I have no choice but to archive the cache. Please note that under directions from HQ, if the cache was archived for maintenance issues, it will not be unarchived. If you wish to replace it you will have to do so with a new listing.

Thanks

Geocache Description:

A short walk at Liskum Campbell Park.

Exerpt from the Manitoba Historical Society: “This small park, in the Souris River valley, in the Rural Municipality of Whitewater, commemorates pioneer Liskum Campbell (1870-1956) who resided in the Riverside district from 1890 to 1947. A charter member of Court Arnold No. 874 of the Canadian Order of Foresters, he built a cable ferry, store, gas pumps, and dance hall known as Riverside Park.” The baseball park which used to be located behind the store became a Sunday meeting place for many in the 1950s and 1960s.
