Geocache Description:

The South Pole? What do you mean, "The South Pole"? That's 9,752.812 miles away from here! Or 15,695.63 kilometres! Approximately. As the crow flies. Assuming his wings don't freeze before he gets there...

It's nothing to do with magnets either, (despite the magnetic fields that may be emanating from the nearby substation). The only 'poles' around this entrance onto the Mount seem to be wooden fence posts!

I love the way that the four posts around a kissing-gate create a diamond shape. (It doesn’t take much to please me…) And nearby, you should find a small, circular, black container containing a log sheet, and one or two swappable items. There's also space for coins, and perhaps a small TB.

2-hour parking is available in Wodeland Avenue, Mountside or The Mount. Please bring a pen, and ensure the cache is re-hidden out of sight. Happy hunting!

Well done to prosniper, obtaining yet another FTF on this cache. I had left 10p in the cache for FTF, but prosniper decided to leave it for STF - so it's still available! (It would've been 20p, but that's the recession for you...)

Once you've visited The South Pole, how's about heading uphill to The North Pole (At the Top)?
