Nathanael Greene was a major general of the Continental Army in the Revolutionary war. When the war began, he was a militia private but emerged from the war with a reputation as George Washington's most gifted and dependable officer. There are many places throughout the United States named after him. Greene was born August 7, 1742 in Warwick, RI. He died suddenly from sunstroke at the age of 43 on June 19, 1786 in Edisto, SC.
There is a memorial park named after him located at the junction of Victory Highway and Bowden Hill Rd in Greene, RI. This is an easy park & grab. The cache is a micro silver bison tube containing only a log. You will need to bring your own pencil/pen. Please return cache back to it's original location.
