• 1980 First Team All SEC
• 1981 UPI First Team All SEC
• 1981 Most Valuable Defensive Player – Hall of Fame Bowl
• Nominee – Vince Lombardi Award
• UPI SEC Defensive Player of the Year
• 1st Team All-America-Football Writers, AP, Football News & Sporting News
• Hula Bowl, Olympia Gold Bowl, Sun Bowl, Hall of Fame participant
• 1st round draft choice in 1982 --- the highest any MSU player has been chosen – drafted by Baltimore Colts
• Six-year member of the NFL
• 1991 Inductee into the MSU Sports Hall of Fame
• 3 seasons with the New York Giants and was a member of the 1990 Super Bowl Champions
