Geocache Description:

PLEASE USE THIS CACHE TO POST YOUR PICTURES AND SPECIFIC COMMENTS ABOUT THIS TRAIL

Eagle Eye 000 is a 30mm ammo can where you can swap swag or bugs.

Welcome to the Arizona Outback. Do you have your Eagle Eyes with you to make the quick find? 251 times you will be asked to Stop, look around, find something, sign something, and then absorb the beauty of this land.

Enjoy.

This is a small power trail in the desert West of Phoenix starting at Salome Road and Eagle Eye Road. As with most power trails it is generally a good idea to carry some spare containers with you. See below about ordering containers for this run if you like ~35¢ each. This trail goes North with ALL caches on the East side of the road. Please perform this run starting at Eagle Eye 000 and ending at Eagle Eye 250. Your adventure will complete Just South of the town of Aguila, AZ. When you are done, stop in and grab a drink or a bite to eat at some of the shops. There is Food and Gas in town, but be sure you start on a full tank of gas and have plenty of provisions like snacks and above all else plenty of water. There is no cell signal, even for Verizon, throughout most of this run so be sure someone knows where you are and how long you will be. This area is extremely hot in the summer and just because the landscape can be beautiful it can be deadly. BE PREPARED

A little information about this very beautiful area...

The Town of Aguila's name is tied to Eagle Eye Mountain which lies in the Harquahala Mountain Range.
The Harquahala Mountains are the highest mountain range in southwestern Arizona, USA and are located southwest of the towns of Aguila and Wenden. The name originated from a local Native American people "Aha qua hala" which meant "water there is high up". Eagle Eye Mountain has a natural opening or bridge through it appearing as an eye high up, and is the namesake for the peaks and Aguila (Spanish for eagle). This is a really neat natural bridge made out of basalt that once upon a time was a bit of a tourist visit when folks drove the roads for a good time and not to make good time
RULES OF THE ROAD:

1. Make a run on this trail going South to North Only starting at Eagle Eye 000.

2. All Caches are on the East side of the road.

3. All of your tires need to be right of the white line when you pull over - DO NOT BECOME A ROAD HAZARD.

4. WATER, WATER, WATER, WATER, WATER, WATER, WATER... Did you bring water??? Please do not attempt if you are not prepared with proper desert provisions.

5. No reason to enter any private property or jump fences. All caches are within a reasonable distance of the road.

6. Leave these 26 miles in the condition you found it or even better.

7.If a cache is missing kindly replace it if you do not mind. I do ask that you not replace them with bags or random trash containers like an empty water bottle with a piece of paper in it. If you do not have a decent container please mark as a Did Not Find and we will maintenance. We have been making periodic maintenance runs to weed out foreign containers. We are trying very hard to preserve the spirit of this run by not having it filled with random bottles that folks turned into a "geocache" or a piece of paper under a rock.

If you like - You can order containers that are on this trail at the following link Order Containers Here. These containers are about ~35¢ a piece which is typically cheaper than film canisters, are water tight, UV resistant, and double walled - so if a rat chews on them they still do not leak.

8. Most importantly - HAVE FUN, Make some memories, share some stories, and go find some caches.

26 miles of adventure await you. Go get it!!

The Eagle Awaits You!!!

A special thank you...
SrLadybug and Campykestral have been invaluable to the preservation of this run. They have been kind enough to make maintenance runs for me when I cannot and replace foreign containers with the original style. SrLadybug and Campykestral have been hard at work by helping replacing missing or foreign containers along the run. Thanks so much for the help my friends and for helping to keep this trail up to speed!!!!
