POZZI ou POZZINE
La Corse est une montagne dans la mer. Pour le voyageur qui ne prendrait pas le temps de pénétrer à l’intérieur des terres, c’est effectivement le bleu profond de la mer qui marque les esprits. Mais déjà en arrière plan se profilent des sommets impressionnants qui cachent bien des trésors. C'est un de ces nombreux joyaux Corse que je vous propose de découvrir : les POZZI.
1. Informations générales.
C'est un site étonnant et unique en Corse (même si d'autres "pozzines" peuvent y être trouvées : lac de Ninu, Cuscione/Coscione, ...), il combine montée relativement aisée, paysages superbes et objectif ludique, en particulier pour les enfants. Cette ballade de 11 Km vous permettra de profiter des joies de la moyenne montagne Corse en début de journée et pourquoi pas d'y pique niquer, avant de rejoindre les îles sanguinaires au soleil couchant ! Bien évidemment cette cache n'est faisable qu'à partir de la fonte des neiges jusqu'à la tombée des premiers flocons.
Au départ d'Ajaccio il vous faudra 1 heure de route pour rejoindre le parking de la station de ski du Val d'Ese. Ensuite, vous devez compter 4 heures de marche aller/retour pendant lesquelles vous franchirez environ 700 mètres de dénivelé. Le départ de la marche est un peu sportif mais accessible au plus grand nombre d'entre nous (enfants « dynamiques » compris!) Penser à prendre suffisamment d'eau avec vous (2 à 3 litres par personne) et ne partez pas sans consulter la météo du jour. Vous pourrez observer que le site est remarquablement conservé, prévoyez également de quoi rapporter vos déchets éventuels voire ceux de personnes indélicates (Trash in, Trash out). Merci d'avance.
2. Définition et description des Pozzi.
Les pozzi ou pozzines (terme utilisé par Briquet à partir de 1910, venant du mot Corse "pozzi" voulant dire « puits » et de la terminaison du mot alpine "ine") sont des trous d'eau plus ou moins profonds aux contours variables, situés sur un sol tourbeux parfaitement plat entourés d'un gazon dru et ras. Ces trous sont en relation avec le cours d’eau qui alimente cette tourbière.
On rencontre généralement les pozzi en bordure des lacs. Mais ici point de lac à l'horizon ! Ce splendide paysage trouve son origine dans un glacier qui a creusé une vallée dans un granit tendre. A la fin de l’ère glacière, un lac a bien occupé ce lieu. Mais petit à petit les sédiments se sont accumulés dans le fond de la vallée. On rencontre souvent ces formations en Corse, ce qui constitue un stade avancé de comblement de la cuvette lacustre. Ce sont donc les différentes glaciations qui sont à l'origine de ces formations particulières, qui rappellent fortement les paysages d'Irlande et d'Europe du Nord voire de l'Asie Centrale, et ce à moins d'une heure de route de la mer Méditerranée !
Le gazon des pozzines est composé essentiellement de pelouses hygrophiles de deux types :
- sur les secteurs toujours imbibés d’eau, on rencontre un groupement végétal où dominent un petit carex, un jonc minuscule et la pinguicule corse,
- dans les zones périphériques, où une certaine tendance à l’assèchement se manifeste à la fin de l’été, se trouve un groupement dominé par un nard, mais aussi par la petite pâquerette de Bernard.
Les pozzines sont des zones de pâturage d’été appréciées, et de nombreuses bergeries (WPT 2) sont situées à proximité des pièces d’eau. Vous y rencontrerez presque assurément des moutons, porcs, bovins et même des chevaux.
La végétation évolue de manière importante avec les saisons, avec l'arrivée du printemps, c'est une avalanche de fleur qui vient tapisser le gazon.
Il est à noter que le Val d'Ese abrite également une variété de truite endémique. Vous trouverez un certain nombres d'informations sur le panneau au WPT 1. Il est indispensable de passer par ce point car une question vous y attend.
3. Validation de la cache.
Après vous être rendu au WPT 1 pour répondre à la première question de validation de la cache, vous emprunterez le sentier balisé orange qui suit les pylônes de télésièges en direction du Nord -Est.
Conservez le bon cap et évitez de progresser à la méthode du sanglier !
Ne ratez pas le WPT 3, un peu à l'écart du chemin, où vous pourrez observer les côtes orientales et occidentales de la Corse, l'île D'Urbino et la plaine environnante.

- Quels sont les noms des variétés de truites présentées sur le panneau au WPT 1?
- Expliquer le mécanisme de formation des pozzi ?
- Trouver la longueur grossière et la largeur de la tourbière ? (Final Location)
- Quel est le numéro de délibération qui est indiqué sur des panneaux au WPT 4, 5 ou 6 ?

Corsica is a mountain in the sea. For the traveler who would not take time to penetrate inside lands, it is effectively the deep blue of the sea that marks the spirits. But already in the background are outlined impressive summits which hide many treasures. It is one of these numerous Corsica jewels which I suggest you discovering: the POZZI.
1. General Information.
It is a surprising and unique site in Corsica (even if the other "pozzines" can be found: lake of Ninu, Cuscione/Coscione), it combines relatively easy ascent, magnificent landscapes and playful objective, in particular for the children. This 11 km ballad will allow you to take advantage of enjoyments of the medium Corsica mountain early in the day and why not for a picnic there, before joining the “Iles sanguinaires” at sunset! Naturally this hiding place is feasible only from the snow melts until the fall of the first flakes. From Ajaccio you will need one hour to drive to the car park of the ski resort of Val d'Ese. Then you need to allow 4 hours of walk to / during which you walk about 700 meters of elevation. The start of the walk is a bit sporty but accessible to the greatest number of us (children "dynamic" included!) Remember to take enough water with you (2 to 3 liters per person) and do not leave without consulting the current weather. You can see that the site is remarkably well preserved, which also plan out your garbage even any of those insensitive people (Trash in, trash out). Thank you in advance.
2. Definition and description of Pozzi.
The pozzi or pozzines (term used by Briquet from 1910, from the Corsican word "pozzi" meaning "well" and the ending of the french word alpine "ine") are water holes more or less deep witch contours variables located on a perfectly flat peaty soil surrounded by a lawn thick and short. These holes are related to the stream that feeds the bog. Typically found along the pozzi lakes. But here no lake in sight! This beautiful landscape finds its origin in a glacier has carved a valley into a granite tender. At the end of the Ice Age, the lake has occupied this place. But gradually the sediments have accumulated in the bottom of the valley. We often meet such case in Corsica, which is an advanced stage of filling of the lake basin. What are the various ice ages that are the source of these particular formations, which are strongly reminiscent of the landscapes of Ireland and Northern Europe even Central Asia, and this at least an hour's drive from the Mediterranean Sea! The turf of the pozzine is composed primarily of hygrophilous lawns of two types: on areas still soaked in water, we find a plant community dominated by small sedges, rushes a tiny and Pinguicula corsica, in peripheral areas, where some drying trend occurs in late summer, is a group dominated by nard, but also by the little daisy Bernard. The pozzines are areas of pasture well appreciated, and many sheep (WPT 2) are located near bodies of water. You will almost certainly meet sheep, pigs, cattle and even horses. The vegetation changes with the seasons, with the arrival of spring, an avalanche of flowers just line the lawn. Note that the Val d'Ese is also home to a variety of endemic trout. You will find a wealth of information on the panel at the WPT 1. It is necessary to go through this because a question waiting for you.
3. Validation of the cache.
Once you have gone to the WPT 1 to answer the first question of validation of the cache, you will take the orange marked trail that follows the towers of chair lifts to the North East. Keep the right course and avoid advancing to the method of the Boar! Do not miss the WPT 3, a little away from the path, where you can watch the eastern and western coasts of Corsica, the island of Urbino and the surrounding plain.
To validate the hiding place I ask you to answer following both questions:
- What are the names of the varieties of trouts presented on the panel to the WPT 1?
- Explain the mechanism of formation of pozzi?
- Find the rough length and the width of the tourbiere? (Final Location)
- What is the number of deliberation indicated on panels to the WPT 4, 5 or 6?
