Geocache Description:

A borderline challenge.

Winter War was a military conflict between Finland and the Soviet Union. It lasted for 105 days from 30 November, 1939 to 13 March, 1940. Finland miraculously survived the Soviet aggression, so this time period has been called the 105 days of glory. A more detailed description of the war can be found on the Related Web Page above.

War is madness, and so is this challenge! In order to log this cache as found, you will first need to meet the following criteria:

Part The First
  1. The eligible cache types for this part are
    • traditional cache (T),
    • unknown/mystery cache (U),
    • multicache (M),
    • wherigo cache (W),
    • letterbox hydrid (L).

  2. Your streak may be composed of any mix of the above cache types. However, pay careful attention to the additional requirements in Part The Second below.

  3. Find and log at least one eligible cache a day on 105 consecutive days; they will be your days of glory. Again, pay careful attention to the additional requirements in Part The Second below.

  4. Your streak may have been started, or even completed, before this cache was published. Your streak may be a part of another challenge. Your streak may not contain caches whose logs have been modified after this cache was published.

  5. You must first complete your streak. Then, and only then, can you sign the logbook and log your visit here.

  6. This cache cannot be a part of your streak.

Part The Second
  1. During the 105 days in Part The First, you must complete this subchallenge.

  2. The eligible cache types for this part are
    • unknown/mystery cache (U),
    • multicache (M),
    • wherigo cache (W),
    • letterbox hydrid (L).

  3. Your substreak may be composed of any mix of the above cache types.

  4. Find and log at least one eligible cache a day on 50 consecutive days.

  5. Again, this cache cannot be a part of your substreak.

When logging this cache, either include the evidence of your streak in your log or send the evidence to the cache owners. Here is the cache owners' streak as a picture and as a listing. Please note that in the owners' streak the cache rules have been refined ad absurdum; this is by no means required of the fellow cachers!

The given coordinates point to the original cache site. The final location is situated at 70.28° and 137.6 metres from the given coordinates. The actual rating for the cache box is now D2/T2.5 (initially D2/T2, then D2/T1.5). BYOP!

THERE IS NOW AN EXCELLENT CHECKER TO VERIFY YOUR ELIGIBILITY!

ALL ENTRIES NOT MEETING THESE CRITERIA WILL BE REMOVED!
