This cache is a diversion from the series to stretch the legs!
A short but steep walk up to a superb vantage point above Witches Craig campsite. The cache is a short distance beyond this.
Park at Logie Kirk. Be carefull at the vantage point as there is a sheer drop.
Witches Craig (or Carlie Crag) is so called because this area became renowned as a haunt of the infamous Witches of Logie. Apparently this is where the Devil came to meet and cavort with his local adherents.
The Ochills are famous for their ore veilding veins particularly silver. There are remnants of quarrying on the slopes nearby. How did they find the ore?
In other parts of the world 'metal witches' have claimed to find these veins by divining using a forked stick similar to water divining.
Divining Rods were often made from Witch Hazel, which incidentally was used during the 19c in the form of an alcoholic drink to cure varicose veins!
If you dare come at dusk with your torch, you may see red eyes darting around the Crag reflecting back at you.
