Here are the puzzles and solutions from the day's event:

Starting coordinates at Hodenpyl Woods: N42° 57.463 W85° 36.749

Note posted to the page at 10am: Over the bridge and through the woods, to the Evil Cacher Napper's trap we go. You will be starting at Hodenpyl Woods. From the parking lot at N42° 57.463 W85° 36.749, travel around the right side of the "hardest stone" and then move down the path in the direction of the distant ship in the sky. Continue along this path, over the bridge, past the "T", until you reach the number that corresponds with the day of the last time I kidnapped on of you (minus 6). You will be near the ship at this point. From that number, about a 90 degree angle using the HOWC post as the vertex and about 25 feet off trail, you will find a tree that is past its prime and what you are looking for. Leave this object in place.

It however will not be available until 10am on December 3rd.. So I suggest you all meet as a group and start the race at the same time. Keep in mind what I said about the first person to find the napped cacher getting a different set of coordinates to my location...and a chance to be involved as an integral part of the next event.

At the first location down the trail you found a note and a tool to decypher the code:





At each location you found the clues:




Stage 2 had been compromised by mugglers (as far as I can tell when I checked on it the morning of the event) and the note on the waterbox no longer applied:




There, it was possible to complete the puzzle without water and you found a secret compartment on the bottom of the box giving you the needed clue.

Putting together all the clues and puzzle pieces yeilded the coordinates N 42° 53.640 W 85° 30.463. There you found the kidnapped cacher with a twist. A 2-way radio with a direct line to me. If you spoke with me, I gave you the coordinates to the final logbook. If you did not, you found the card(s) in the dummy's pocket with the coordinates.



However, as you see, the first person to find the body got a different set of coordinates to my location and a separate prize. Here is the note found in that container:




The rest of you should have gone a different path to the other final location. Too bad a group of you spoiled it for the winner and followed in the wrong direction...not allowing that person to meet me as intended. Social experiment completed.

I will be posting the list of geocaches you also found yesterday as soon as they are published. Some are already submitted as their locations are good.
