Cecilien-Cache
Dieser Cache, unser erster!, stellt euch das Schloss Cecilienhof vor. Um das Schloss zu sehen, müsst ihr von diesem Cache noch ein kleines Stück gehen. Auf das Schloss als Tagungsort der Potsdamer Konferenz vom 17.07.-2.8.1945 wollen wir hier nicht eingehen, dass könnt ihr gern nachlesen.
Wir wollen euch ein ziemlich unbekanntes Detail verraten: Der letzte Schlossbau der Hohenzollern wurde unter Kaiser Wilhelm II. für seinen Sohn Kronprinz Wilhelm und dessen Gemahlin Cecilie aus dem Haus Mecklenburg-Schwerin errichtet. Cecilie hatte genaue Vorstellungen von diesem Schloss. Cecilie verlobte sich am 4. September 1904 mit Kronprinz Wilhelm von Preußen im Jagdschloss Gelbensande. Das liegt bei Rostock, idyllisch im Wald. Genau so ein schönes Häuschen wie ihre Eltern, Großherzog Friedrich Franz III. und seine Gemahlin Anastasia Großfürstin von Russland, als Sommerresidenz hatten, wollte Cecilie auch in Potsdam haben – und bekam es auch. Besucht doch einmal das Vorbild vom Schloss Cecilienhof in Gelbensande.Dort wartet natürlich auch ein Cache auf euch (siehe Schlossgeist Jagdschloss-Gelbensande, GC2W7K0).

With this cache, we want to present to you Cecilienhof.
To see the castle is located a short distance away from the cache.
The Potsdam Conference was held at this castle from 17 July till 2 August 1945; feel free to look this up and read further, but we’ll leave it at that.
We want to tell you a fairly unknown detail: The last palace of the Hohenzollern dynasty was built under Emperor Wilhelm II for his son Crown Prince Wilhelm and his wife Cecilie from the house of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. The castle was by Cecilia’s exact wishes.
Cecilie got engaged with the Crown Prince Wilhelm of Prussia on September 4th 1904 in the Jagdschloss (hunting lodge) Gelbensande, which is located near Rostock in an idyllic forest.
It is the summer residence of her parents Grand Duke Friedrich Franz III. and his wife Grand Duchess Anastasia of Russia.
Liking the Jagdschloss very much, she got a nice house just like it in Potsdam.
