Many times while traveling from Adelaide to home in the Barossa Valley one gets the illusion that turning off of the Sturt Highway onto Gomersal road the traffic will be less and the distance to home is also less, however far from it, Gomersal Road is rated at a maximum speed of 90km/h compared to 110km/h on the Highway. As for the traffic I know heavy freight trucks use this route to access the Barossa and a big volume of cars do also.
For this reason take great care where you park your car and if you cross the road watch for the traffic. Hang onto the junior cachers to keep them safe; this road is safer on weekends when the volume of traffic is down.
